Review of meeting – Tuesday , August 4, 2020
Again we opened the meeting with famous singing star Bob Delisle giving a rendition of the National Anthem followed by an invocation by Jake Slagle. Our scheduled speaker was Jimmie Gorski, the incoming District Governor. However due to last nite’s Hurricane she was unable to connect with us. So we filled the time with a number of matters. We welcomed Cotonya Lester , President of the Baltimore City Sunset club. Also introduced was Michael Chisolm who moved from Atlanta to take the position of pastor of the Salvation Army in Baltimore. Karen Blake gave a thank you dollar for K&S Automotive fixing her new used car and Jeff Penza was thankfull that he could play golf and drive on a race track (presumably not route 95). This was followed by a survey as to how we preferred to pay our happy dollars in virtual meetings. (virtual dollars ?) Delores Edwards thanked members for the condolences expressed her family. Karen Blake announced that the District training team has rescheduled the PET training for August and October. President Jack Huskin advised that City Seeds was looking for volunteers and Karen Blake told us about volunteer opportunities at City Schools for Tutors and Mentors. The club Board of Directors also voted for the club to get its own Zoom account at last nite’s meeting.
The rest of the meeting was a presentation by Theron Russell and Kelly Stickney of our Club’s new online directory DACDB. Best way to sign on is via a desktop computer going to www.dacdb.com and follow the online instructions for logging on and establishing a password , preferably using Google Chrome. It is a web based program that must be accessed each time you want to update or look up information therein (it is not an App). Theron urged all members to go to the club directory and update their personal information. It also contains a wealth of information about our district and its Clubs.
A very productive meeting!
